Agra

This was the time when the trend was of a film camera  , unlike the digital ones today . The pictures were carefully clicked not to waste any one of those 32 precious frames in the film roll . and with equal care the photos were developed in red light room , hung to get dried and then framed or stuck up in a photo album .

I too had some beautiful photos taken at Taj Mahal Agra , while on a history tour from school , around the time I was 16 , unfortunately for me , I lost most of them . Somewhere in some city , in some house , in some drawer ( as you probably already know  my father is in Army and gets posted every 2 years or so ..) I have been pining to visit the beautiful palaces in Agra ever since  , top on my list are , the Taj Mahal and the fort of Fatehpur Sikri .

History tells us that after his military victories over Chittor and Ranthambore, The Emeperor Akbar decided to shift his capital from Agra to a new location 23 miles W.S.W on the Sikri ridge, to honor the Sufi saint Salim Chishti, and hence was build Fatehpur sikri fort .

Now this is a place , no part of which has been never shot before , numerous visitors take hundreds and thousand of pictures every day , as far as the eye goes  , or rather camera can zoom . I dont see why then more pictures are shot every day , day after day , when the ones already present could be reused , and instead sit and wonder what force of love could drive the kings and crafts-men to construct a divinity as this

I hope to go and visit the magnificence soon never-mind the hot Delhi summers or the overcrowded local transport uttarpradesh bus .

It is my earnest desire to see  what the people from bygone era left for us to marvel at , and think what we in our times will leave for our future generations to wonder and marvel  at ….

Meanwhile here the only photograph I have left to cherish

I know the picture is in a bad shape well , thats because I had it stick to the wall of my study room with glue , transparent tape and thumb pin .

When finally had to pull out the picture for the reason of shifting homes , I sensibly scanned it , and later wrote a blog just around it , which you just read ofcoures .
